Gary Geissler brings to Summit Orthopedic Therapy an extensive orthopedic/sports background. He was the Clinical Director of Rehabilitation for Harvard's sports medicine team from 1991 to 2016. His primary sport assignments were football, men's and women's cross country, men's and women's track and field, and women's water polo.  He also has specific experience with men's and women's tennis and the Alpine and Nordic ski teams.

Gary has a lengthy list of affiliations with world-class athletes, both at Harvard and on the national and international circuits. He has been the head athletic trainer and sports physical therapist for the U.S. national track and field team at the World Championships and was a member of the athletic training and physical therapy staff for the U.S. team at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta. He was a volunteer athletic trainer during the 1994 FIFA World Cup and has worked as an athletic trainer at a number of high-level ice hockey, basketball and wrestling events as well.

Before coming to Summit Orthopedic Therapy Gary worked for 11 years at Orthopaedic Physical Therapy Services.

Garys is a 1981 graduate of Boston University where he also obtained a master's degree in physical therapy in 1986. He received a doctorate in physical therapy from The Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professions in Boston in 2009.

Gary is also an Assistant Professor at the MGH IHP where he teaches sports physical therapy.

Gary is an avid runner and enjoys vacationing along the New England coastline.
